The initiative aims to introduce Organic Farming as a vocational trade in government schools. It focuses on developing a practical, skill-based curriculum covering organic cultivation, soil management, composting, sustainable farming practices, and farm entrepreneurship. The programme will provide students with hands-on experience and promote sustainable agriculture, employability, and self-employment opportunities.

Organic Farming in School is a project implemented by the Education Department, Government of Sikkim as an initiative of Samagra Shiksha. The Project was lunched in the year 2017 in 37 Senior Secondary Schools and later covered to all Junior High Schools, Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools in 2019.
